TÜV for ASTOR. The Educational Robot Astorino with Safety Certification Conquers Global Markets
ASTOR, a trusted provider of intelligent technologies for industry in the areas of automation, robotics, industrial IT/artificial intelligence, and intralogistics, as well as the manufacturer of the educational robot Astorino, proudly announces it has obtained the prestigious TÜV safety certificate. This significant achievement, combined with a successful presentation in April at the ongoing World Expo 2025 in Osaka, opens new opportunities for Polish technology on international markets, with particular emphasis on Japan.
Astorino: From Concept to International Recognition and TÜV Certification
Astorino, a unique design by Polish engineer Marek Niewiadomski, a graduate of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Robotics at AGH University of Krakow, has been part of ASTOR’s portfolio since 2021, and since 2022 also distributed by Kawasaki Robotics in Europe. The robot stands out with its ability to be programmed using industrial robot languages and its innovative 3D-printed construction.
Marek Niewiadomski, currently a design engineer at ASTOR and the creator of Astorino, emphasizes the importance of the certification:
“Obtaining the TÜV certificate for Astorino was truly a special mission – the culmination of years of work and dedication. Certifying a product for Japan, including full Japanese documentation, was no small feat, but it proves that Polish engineering can produce solutions that meet the highest global standards of safety and quality. On a personal note, it is incredibly rewarding to see something that began over ten years ago as a hobby, evolve into a product that will help nurture young engineering talent around the world.”
Dariusz Biega, Head of the Robotics Business Line at ASTOR, adds:
“The success of Astorino, including the TÜV certification, is the result of the hard work and dedication of our entire team. It confirms that what we deliver complies with legal standards both in Poland and globally. We are proud that through Astorino, we can represent Polish innovation on the international stage.”
Success at Expo 2025 in Osaka and International Expansion
The Astorino robot was a key element of Poland’s exhibition at Expo 2025 in Osaka, where the country presents its achievements under the theme “Poland. Heritage that drives the future.”
As a Partner of the Polish Pavilion, ASTOR actively promoted the innovative spirit of Polish industry. During the Polish Science and Education Days at Expo 2025, the Astorino robot showcased its capabilities through interactive applications such as the RPG game “Legend of the Wawel Dragon” and the mini production line Kawasaki Ninja 2.
The Japanese audience responded very positively to this unique product.
“We see tremendous potential for entering the Japanese market. We are currently in talks regarding a global distribution partnership for Astorino, which will be another major milestone in our development after our success with Kawasaki Robotics distribution in Europe,” emphasizes Dariusz Biega.
ASTOR, already an established exporter to dozens of countries, including Japan, continues to strengthen its international presence. As the Kawasaki Robotics hub for the CEE region and with its own branch in Romania, ASTOR is actively pursuing global expansion.
Astorino is more than just an educational tool – it is a symbol of Polish innovation. Its light weight, thanks to 3D printing, enhances safety during use and allows for personalization through the addition of custom equipment. The TÜV certification and success at World Expo 2025 confirm that Astorino is ready to shape the future of robotics education worldwide.
